Just like the National FFA, the Sand Rock High School FFA Chapter is full of rich history and traditions also. The Sand Rock High School FFA Chapter was formed by Mr. J.R. Nutt in 1937 with 29 members. Since then the chapter has progressed in leaps and bounds. Today the Sand Rock High School FFA chapter takes a yearly trip to the National FFA Convention, has state and national finalists in CDE’s (Career Development Events) and proficiency awards, and has a yearly average of about 75 members.

Below are several interviews from Sunup ‘til Sundown: An Oral History of Agriculture in the Lookout Mountain Area of previous FFA advisors.(Click on links to view stories) From these stories you will acquire a better sense of how rich the Sand Rock High School FFA’s history actually is.
